Ben Hur Screening

This evening, I went to the screening of Ben Hur, directed by Timur Bekmambetov. It's the fifth film adaptation of the 1880 novel, Ben Hur. I truly enjoyed it. This film reminds us about a desire for revenge being turned into redemption. Redemption proves a greater purpose and expression of love, which we all truly need. Just like Jesus Christ, the ultimate Redeemer... (Ephesians 1:7 "In (Jesus Christ) we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace."

New York Sports Club

In 1995, I realized it was time to get serious about my health and my food intake. I quit eating meat, butter, which is difficult being southern, and I even took chocolate out of the cabinets. Whooh! Now, I'm much healthier and the most fit I have ever been since 1995, even if I have a chocolate milk shake sometimes. When I moved into NYC in 2001, I became a member of a gym and have not stopped going. I have to give a shout out to the instructors at New York Sports Club who have really pushed me, inspired me, made me sweat and also hurt a day or so after their class! Body Conditioning, Spinning, Urban Zumba, Abs....thank you and don't let me slack! :)

Acting Technique with Rob Decina

Tonight, I had the pleasure of completing a television technique class with Rob Decina, an Emmy nominated casting director in NYC. His book, The Art of Auditioning, is awesome. I really like his technique. I relate to it. I grasp it. I'm so grateful to discover it and to learn from an Emmy nominated casting director who truly, I feel, wants to help actors be what they can be. I may have been better in my last class than tonight's class, which is disappointing. However, I don't mind the challenge of being better, learning more and, God willing, one day having the opportunity to be a co-star or guest star on a network television show.

Voice-over Audition

Today, I had another voice-over audition that was a lot of fun. Recently, I've decided to focus on voice-overs. They give me another avenue with my acting I truly enjoy. Plus, they help the financial income of a working hard, fulfilling dreams actress. :)

By the grace and kindness of a leader of MasterMedia, a Christian organization of believers in the media industry, I have a recording system in my home. I'm truly grateful because it has allowed me to book some voice-over jobs on my own. This doesn't discredit my need and appreciation of my agents submitting me for auditions, like today.

Administrative Professionals Day

Every actor has many jobs to pursue his/her career and still put food on the table. I have about 5 "pay-the-bills," that's my definition of them, jobs. Almost exactly 5 months ago, November 25, 2015, I started a new "pay-the-bills" job at an office. I've never had a Monday-Friday, corporate, 8am, 5 days a week job in my life. I say that with gratitude. However, today, I have come to experience the Administrative Professionals Holiday.

I truly understand why this is a holiday. Admins and office assistants really "bust some moves" in an office. I've discovered Microsoft Office/Word/Excel/Outlook, Concur, Fed-Ed labels, Office Depot, binding and printing documents, stocking kitchens with coffee, milk, snacks, etc. and more beyond what one could ever imagine. Sometimes, I do plumbing, printer maintenance, espresso machine or water dispenser "surgery" and garbage recycling. The latter jobs were accidentally missing from  my job description, but I don't complain. I'm thankful to get paid every week, experience working with people nowhere near the entertainment world and still being able to pursue my career of acting. It's actually a huge answer to prayer and blessing. Here's a shout out to all the Admins on this day!

New York International Auto Show

As you have seen me before in the past 13 years, I will be a spokesperson once again at the magnificent New York International Auto Show. This show started in November of 1900 and it gets larger and larger every year. I am excited to see almost 1000 cars and trucks on display and talk to nearly 200,000 spectators that pass through the 4 floors of the Jacob Javits Convention Center. It still amazes me how this show is one of the largest in America when majority of the people in New York City don't even drive 😀

Lehigh Valley

In Bethlehem of Pennsylvania (not the one in Israel) and at the Lehigh University will be the Greater Lehigh Valley Auto Show for four days. I will be a spokesperson at this great show. The cute town of Bethlehem has an elegant, historic Hotel Bethlehem, which will be full of people tonight celebrating St Patrick's Day. I'm looking forward to 'being back in college' this weekend.

Spokesperson in Richmond, VA

In Richmond, VA this weekend, I will be a spokesperson for Toyota at the Richmond International Auto Show. Richmond is full of old architecture, tons of history, great museums, delicious restaurants, and a beautiful capital with massive statues. The downtown area has adorable shops and fun bars/restaurants lined up on the cobble streets. It's a weekend packed with adventure for pre-St Patrick's Day.
